Description
Join the Economic Opportunity Institute during lunch to get the latest updates from Olympia in our first-ever FYI with EOI: Session Scoop. This mid-session event comes after the House of Origin Cutoff, a critical time for our legislators. Lawmakers face a revenue shortfall this legislative session that threatens programs and services supporting working Washingtonians. When wealthy people and corporations refuse to pay what they truly owe to our communities by blocking progressive tax policies, they add another barrier to the wealth-building power of immigrants, Indigenous peoples, Black folks, and all working people. This is where we act. EOI is working to build an economy that truly works for everyone, not just the wealthy few. Our skilled policy team equips the public and public decision-makers with the research and practical tools they need to embed the values of fairness, care, and opportunity into the foundations of our state’s economy – thereby support thriving people and communities across the state. We look forward to hosting you virtually so we can dive into our legislative agenda, share ways to get involved, and build our collective power. When: Wednesday, March 19, from 12-1:30 p.m. Where: Zoom Who: Hear from our Policy Director, Traci Underwood and our policy experts, Gabriela Quintana, Sam Hatzenbeler, and Carolyn Brotherton! If you have any questions, please contact our communications director, Alexis Mansanarez, at alexis@opportunityinstitute.org. See you soon.
